Agency: Russia’s new car sales rise 15% to 2 tln rbl in 2017

MOSCOW, Jan 15 (PRIME) -- Russia’s sales of new cars rose around 15% to approximately 2 trillion rubles in 2017, analytical agency Avtostat said on Monday providing preliminary estimates.

“Besides growth of the market itself in 2017 (by over 10%), an increase of prices also had impact on growth of revenue. According to our data, prices for new cars rose by 5% on average this year,” the statement said.

Joerg Schreiber, chairman of the Association of European Businesses (AEB), said earlier in January that sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles (LCV) in Russia grew 11.9% to 1.59 million units in 2017.
